Verifying Hooke's Law & Determining the Spring Constant
The Hooke's Law  is
To veryfy this relation experimentally we will need:
- At least one spring ( two or three would be better )
- A dynamometer ( for measuring the force )
- A ruler ( for measuring Δx
)
- Some statif
Modus operandi:
The spring will be place horizontally, with one extremity on a fixed support A and the other on
a support we can fixe at different places.The Ruler is placed on the table paraller to the spring.
The dynamometer will be disposed between A and the spring like shown on picture 1
A cursor will be fixed on B, in order to show the measure of the lenght on the ruler.
We will move B as shown on picture 3
The digital dynamometer is connected to the computer via an interface, and we can read the
magnitude of the force for the different values of Δx.
